Posting a chance on Give The Chance is very simple. Below are some quick instructions for how to post a chance and how to follow up with inquiries.
Step 1 - Create an Account & Login
Once you've created an account an email will be sent to your provided email address that provides a 1-time login to the site. Click on the link and you will be provided with a screen to create your account password.
Step 2 - Post Your First Chance
Once you've signed in for the first time, you will be directed to the user dashboard. From here you can press the big green button that reads "Post Your First Chance."
Clicking this button will take you to a Chance Posting page, that allows you to provide the following information:
- Time Frame (ex: 1-2 days, 4 hours, etc...)
- Location (by city)
- Description of Chance
Once you've filled out the required information, press the green button at the bottom titled "Post Chance." After which your chance will be found under the Find a Chance system, in addition to being displayed on your User Dashboard.
Step 3 - Receiving Chance Inquiries
Once your chance has been posted members of GTC are able to inquire about the chance. When a member submits an inquiry to a chance there will be a email notification sent to you letting you know your chance has received an inquiry.
The email will include the following information:
- Chance Seekers Email & Name
- Link to Chance Seekers Profile
- Inquiry Message.
We recommend checking out the Chance Seekers Profile to see if any members have provided reviews of the individual.
If you feel comfortable you may then follow up with the Chance Seeker to arrange a phone call or meeting prior to inviting them to take the Chance. It's important that you as a Chance Provider are comfortable with the Chance Seeker and can trust them to complete the task.
Chance has been Accomplished!
A completed chance should always be celebrated. Once a chance has been accomplished, simply log back into the site, edit the chance from your dashboard and click the "chance accomplished" button down at the bottom. This way the chance can be marked accomplished and removed from the Find a Chance list.
We also want to encourage for the Chance Poster to provide a review of the Chance Seeker on their profile. If the individual has done a great job - let people know!... If on the other hand they struggled, provide honest feedback.
It's important for us that Chance Seekers are given a chance to perform, and can have a running record of people confirming the quality of the person and their work. These reviews can go a long way towards helping that individual improve, in addition to helping them find more permanent employment in the future.
Thank you once again for posting a chance for your community in need.
